Knit 1 Tea 2 Color Swap Questionnaire

  1. Do you like loose tea or bags, or both – something you want to try? Traditionally I have been a 'Bag-Lady' but more recently (thanks to Chan) I have come to love loose tea.

  2. What is your favorite kind of tea (Brand, flavor, variety, etc)? Tazo brand (working 8 1/2 years at Starbucks and the tea is from my home town so I'm slightly biased), Earl Grey for my favorite black tea flavor as well as Chai. I am a big fan of black teas and herbals. I have yet to find a green tea I enjoy and the white teas I have tried are slowly creeping into my favorites.

  3. Favorite color in regards to tea or one you would like to try? (black, green, red, and white) (keeping in mind that this is how this swap is set up). I would really love to try more white teas. The ones I have tried and loved were wonderful (Blueberry White Tea, Pomegranate White Tea). The possibilities seem to be endless with this color of tea....

  4. Would you say you were a tea pot kind of person or just a hot water heater kind? I would love to say I am a tea pot person but that can not be (although I do own a small one). I use my Bodem hot water heater, because it is fast, easy, and ready in a pinch.

  5. What tea accessories would you like but have never purchases for yourself? I would love to have one of those tiny tea bag plates. I know it seems rather silly, especially if I am getting into loose leaf, but it has always been something I would like to have. I don't want any Charlotte moments (who knows this reference, want to be my BFF)....Also perhaps a small handle less mugs - they are too cute and the perfect size for a quick tea hit.

  6. How do you prefer to be pampered? (examples: mani/pedi, bubble bath, yummy treat, etc). It would have to be a massage (at least an hour - ohhhhhhhh) followed by a pedicure (can't do my nails, because of work), and then of course a treat or a treat with each!

  7. If you were a kind of yarn what would you be and why? I would be a blend of wool/nylon sock yarn, because I like to consider myself hard working, strong, flexible, easy going, and full of surprises. All characteristics I attribute to socks and what we need them to do for us on a daily basis (unless it is summer and I go in flip flops) LOL

  8. If you had to knit/crochet baby booties, a fun fur scarf, or a fair isle sweater, which would you choose and why? I would choose to knit the baby booties, because they are something I have yet to make and if they are anything like socks I will love them. They are also a great gift for new moms and you can never have enough new baby gifts to give.

  9. What other event would make you skip a tea party? (A garden party? A book club meeting? A yoga class? Opening night for a new action thriller? etc?) A bike trip with my husband and a packed picnic lunch to the beach (only with umbrellas and sun block of SPF 45).
  10. What treat would you consider essential at your tea party? (Sweet? Salty? Scones? Those petite pastry trays with a couple of all sorts of things? Little crustless sandwiches?) First no tea party is complete with out scones, jam, and clotted cream (the Devonshire variety of course), a nice assortment of crustless sandwiches, and of course a couple of petit fours (small oven in French) such as a fig bar, almond cake, pear tartlet, etc.
  11. When buying yarn for a project how do you choose - do you buy the one called for or do you substitute? I try and substitute and usually do only after some research. The yarn used is usually a bit out of my budget (although I have used what is called for in many projects as well; it all depends on the yarn and how many skeins I need...)

  12. What do you carry your knitting/crocheting in when on the go? Either my 'Will Knit for Tattoo's Bag' (thanks Mom) or my newly made project bags.

  13. Favorite movie to watch while knitting/crocheting? As much as I enjoy foreign films, knitting and reading makes both very slow so my choice would be anything with Drew Barrymore or a really good dance movie such as Center Stage, Dirty Dancing, Dance with Me (original version), etc.

  14. Are you a traditional tea cup kind of person or a mug type of person? Do you care if they match? I love both, but currently we have lots of mugs (my husband is very much the coffee drinker). Someday when we have a place of our own I would like to collect tea cups with saucers. I don't care if they match and really I think it is much cooler when they don't.

  15. Favorite childhood birthday party? A tea party that my mom had for me when I was in 4th grade. My friends and I got to play dress up and drink tea out of real china and use real tea pots. She made all kinds of goodies and sandwiches to make it more of a 'real' tea party.

  16. Favorite type of scone and jam? My favorite scone is Orange Ginger with Raspberry Jam. Followed closely by a Dried Cherry or Cranberry Scone with Orange Marmalade.

  17. If you use candles, what is your favorite scent? Clean, floral types (not rose) in spring/summer, spicy, dessert types in fall/winter.

  18. If you could choose 3 people to have 'tea' with, who would they be and why? (famous or not, living or dead). Round 1: My Grandma Jean (a wonderful lady with lots of great stories I never got to hear), My Grandpa Wooldridge (would have loved to learn more about you and learn from you), and my mom because we live too far apart and don't get to see each other much. Round 2: Chan, Anne, Melissa, Michelle, Jen, Bertha, Mary, and Melissa (I could go on) all of them are wonderful. I have gotten to know each of them through this awesome on line knitting community. It would be great to meet them IRL too. Round 3: Drew Barrymore (seems so fun), Natalie Portman (in one of my favorite movies 'Garden State'), and lastly Audrey Hepburn (a lady who had class, style and an ease about her). I know I kind of cheated, but at least now you have more info....

  19. You've been invited to a tea party, what 'props' will you wear (formal or casual)? I want the biggest, prettiest hat I can find in a pale pink with a big flower on the brim (fresh if possible). The perfect outfit would be like what Julia Roberts' wore in 'Pretty Woman' at the Polo Match (only a better color for my pale skin).

  20. Any allergies/preferences you have or are willing to admit to? None I am willing to admit too..... LOL (I'm in denial).

  21. Anything we missed that you want your pal to know? I am open to questions and in fact I love to answer them so ask away if you are unsure about anything. I am easy going and am looking forward to a great swap.

Oh, that was delightful! By the way... I've asked your mom to be our white tea expert for the swap. ;)
