Christmas Knitting Avoidance: A How To

Not that I have done this on purpose, but I have found a way to avoid my holiday knitting. That is right. All one has to do is volunteer to knit a few baby items and you are in the clear. Now in truth I still will be doing that holiday knitting, just under what I like to call pressure.

(What do you think of the model? -to the right) LOL

I chose to knit my friend's friend a baby bonnet (Top Down) because 1: it was my choice and 2: I wanted to learn something new. Being that this is for a baby I wanted a washable yarn. What I found was yarn love. It is sport weight wool that is 100% machine washable and dry able. It is by Louet it is, Gems - Opal and I am now officially in love with this yarn. The mom doesn't know if it is a boy or girl so I choose a lovely shade of Aqua that will work for a boy or a girl.

Next on the holiday knit avoidance list is baby mittens.....

Head on over to Grammie Knits. She is having a contest for her 300th post!!!

It's quite lovely, and I'll have to try to find some of that yarn!

Very cute, and a good color. I thought Louet Sportweight would be good for baby items, I will keep it in mind--seems like every other person I know is having a baby.

Ooh very cute! I have SO MUCH baby knitting to do - there are 3 due within about 1 month of eachother at work in February, and all for people I like and want to knit for :o I'll have to check out that yarn too!

I am with you on avoiding the Christmas knitting. I got tired of doing the Chenille squares for the mothers Christmas Throw blanket, so I started last night MY first pair of fingerless gloves and I am totally enjoying knitting them instead of the throw.

Cute Bonnet. Love the model.

I totally understand the knitting gift avoidance, and practice it often. I, too, work well under pressure. That hat is adorable!

What a nice gift -- it's perfect! I have a baby knit to do soon for a cousin, maybe a hat or booties but first, I must finish aunt's Xmas scarf... On the bright side, at least you procrastinate holiday knitting with knitting - I don't know what I've been doing, but I'm not getting any knitting done!
