Blogland Friends: Just as Great in Person

Guess who I meet today?? Michelle from InsanKnitty - she is a great lady and we had a great time here in Boston (despite the heat). We first hit up Woolcott and Company in Cambridge. This is a great store filled with lots of wonderful yarns, especially lovely sock yarns! Next we headed back into downtown Boston and had lunch at a lovely little Panini place.

After lunch we headed to Newbury Yarns (I for some reason have never even noticed this store, although I had walked by it 100's of times). We could only quickly glance around due to the power being out, but it was a great store which I plan to head back to as soon as I need to purchase more yarn.

Next we hit Needle Point and Knitting. It has a super small selection, but it was fun to see what they had. We had a lovely walk through the public gardens and the Boston Common to our finally yarn destination Windsor Button. This is a great store because it has a bit of everything. From the most expensive to the durable everyday yarns and of course it has lots and lots of buttons.

It was a great day and a pleasure to meet Michelle in person. She made this lovely cupcake dishcloth for me - isn't it too cute! Thank you so much for the cloth, it is the perfect pattern and the perfect for me color! It will match my up coming tats quite well I think. Thank you Michelle for a great day. I'm so glad that we got to get together!!!

See we can be friends IRL too :-) Sounds like you both had a great time!!

I did that once to a knit shop. IT was right across the street from a great clothes shop I used to frequent and never noticed it. Now they BOTH are closed (boo hoo)

The cute dishcloth looks good enough to eat! Can we beg Michelle for the pattern? What's this about a new Tat? If it is a cupcake, make sure it says "Mom" on it. Just kidding! Love you! Your mom

That's so cool! I hope we can meet up when I visit Boston, too. :) Of course I will have young kids in tow and they will not stand for browsing through yarn stores, so we'll have to figure out something else to do...

Just leaving a quick comment to let you know that a vacation-in-a-box is headed your way! Well, as soon as the postman gets here, but you get the point!

Your KVVS Pal

Devon,

I had so much fun meeting you! And shopping was a ball, and it really felt like we'd known each other forever with the comfort I had in talking with you! I hope we can do it again someday!

(it's going to be a week or so before I can blog about our visit!)

So many yarn shops - I AM envious! I think I have to travel to the US of A some time soon and leave with suitcases of stuff!

I'm still jealous, but luckily, I have a IRL meet-up with Virtuous coming up.
