Last week the husband and I drove (or rather he drove most) to our future home - Columbus, Ohio. We found a great apartment right on N. High street. It is a kind of loft apartment with one wall of brick and a large room with a wall dividing the bedroom area, but the best thing about our new place is that I will have a dishwasher and washer and dryer inside our unit. I haven't had a dishwasher in 2 years and we haven't had a w/d in our apartment in 6 years. I say it is about time. I really enjoyed Columbus. It was super clean and everyone is really friendly. While we were there we had dinner with a fellow blogger Jenny and her husband at Spagio's Cellars. Another night we also met and had dinner with a fellow Ravelryer Marisa (Ravelry link) and her boyfriend at Surly Girl Saloon. It was a great visit with some new friends. I think Columbus is going to be wonderful. On the way home we got to see Niagara Falls!!
One of my favorite shows was based in Niagara Falls (Wonder Falls) s
o it was fun to actually see it in person. It was unbelievably beautiful. The noise, the view, the mist - it was breathtaking.
Not much knitting going on, but lots of packing. Stay tuned for actual knitting content.

I wish you a successful move. The Falls pictures are super! I was there way back when I was 18. it was so wonderous. I'm always reminded of the Abott & Costello skit when I hear the words "Niagara Falls"...slowly I turned...step by step, inch by inch ;-)

Wow! I"m glad you liked Cols and had such a good time. The apartment sounds stellar, too. Take care and have a great move. If you ever get up just north of Cols to Powell, OH think of me. That's where I was raised. :)
I'm sure it's a great feeling knowing that you know where you're going in Ohio. Niagra Falls is so beautiful, and I want to go see it in person one of these days!
I was born in COlumbus... spent many a summer at my Grandpa's house... and while I was still just a youngster, I did like the city... the people are incredibly friendly! Good luck, you'll be missed on the East coast!

wow! big move. i know born and raised california girls who really enjoyed living in columbus. so have a fun time. and niagara falls is absolutely amazing. it truly is breathtaking and awesome and inspiring all at once. take care.
So great the you will have the comforts that you have so missed and needed. W/D in the apt is a boom. Look forward to you updates when all is settled in. Moving and summer new friends you have to be super busy.
